a week has passed. where did awin go? she didn’t write anything for a week.. she was not at the lab too. nor in bukit merah…
well, she was in the sickbed for a week……..
recovered from the gastric, i had 3 healthy days. before i started to feel ‘unwell’ again. it was fever, well i thought so..but it wasn’t a normal fever bcos it was started with a nasty culture of streptococcus pyogenes which illegally had made my tonsil their new home. this, has made me infected! and my fever is no longer a normal fever, as it was accompanied by tonsilitis. thanks to the strepscoccus sp.!
hey, it’s just a sore throat. well, that was what everyone think about the tonsilitis. at least i used to think like that. but, it was more than a mere sore throat. this bacteria, will form a white colony on your tonsil surface ( a part of our throat, at both right and left side) and they will make the tonsil swallow. then the throat will be painful especially to eat solid food, and you’ll start coughing. at the same time, mr.fever will hug you like a long lost friend, with a ‘warm’ friendly hug. then everything will be upside down.. the gland at the neck will also swallow, you’ll have a tight nose and cold (sema-sema), and at night it is hard to breath as you’ll feel the chest is so heavy..not to mention the throw ups. so, who say it’s just a sore throat. it’s more than that..
at nights, i shivered bcos it was so chilly, but yet my body was warm that i sweat.. so upside down, rite?
but why? it is bcos of the bacteria..this small friend is so special, they can produce a kind of toxin (forgot the name, it’s in the Brock book of microbiology).the toxin can cause hemolysin. it lyses or break the red blood cells. so,it’s not ‘just a sore-throat’.. i took antibiotics, cough syrup, lozenges, some pain killers to cope with the pain especially the head ache and the heavy chest, and a few other medicines which i couldn’t remember their names..
everything started bcos i shared a bowl of delicious, nice-smelling and tempting tom yam with a friend who had that disease before. tom yam is my favourite..yummy.. so, friends….let us be careful about the food we eat and with whom we share them. recalling what the doctor said, "sharing with your husband is ok, but don’t share with your friends". a husband, where can i find one. i love to share, afterall sharing is loving…hehe..talking about husband, hm…or looking for a husband…nice topic. need a full page to talk about that. or maybe more..hehehe…anyone wanna start?
fever made me think of roses:
"you can complain bcos roses have thorns,
or you can rejoice bcos thorns have roses.."
it depends on how you chose to look at them and appreciate all they bring…
for me, they bring me chances…to rest,to sleep, to read, to gain new knowledge, to spend time with myself, to think and thank Allah and a lot of other chances….and what more is to be thankful and appreciate the health i always have.
health is wealth!
Alhamdulillah…
